El foro es el espacio que se utiliza como escenario de intercambio entre personas que desean discutir sobre problemáticas aquí expuestas. Por lo tanto, utilizaremos este espacio para intercambiar ideas - comentarios - sugerencias - y cualquier otro aspecto que permita potencializar la página web, como una herramienta pedagógica.

Incluso, pueden tener relación con escenarios más informales, como grupos de pertenencia social que deseen realizar intercambios sobre uno o varios temas. En algunas ocasiones, programas de radio o de TV han propuesto foros con panelistas sobre temáticas de interés público.
En cualquier caso, un foro suele contar con un administrador, un moderador y foristas. Los foros mantienen una o más sesiones de intercambio y pueden disponer o no inicialmente con un tema de debate. En general, un foro tiene una serie de normas para regular su funcionamiento, facilitando la vinculación de los foristas en un entorno armónico y de diálogo.
Actualmente, el concepto de foro está muy ligado a Internet y tiene que ver con los espacios de discusión virtuales que se utilizan para el intercambio de mensajes y opiniones en torno de aplicaciones y software, problemáticas sociales, grupos de fans y otros.
